The Lowest Tide is the second release from the Woolf Sung Collection. A 26 year old Bowmore distilled in December 1991 and decanted in May 2018 from a Sauternes cask. The whisky has a cask strength of 50.9% and comes in a 70cl bottle.
The label is a one-of-a-kind design and each is hand numbered. The bottle is beautifully presented in a stainless steel black powder coated bank vault case. Each case is embossed with Woolf Sung’s unique release number. Only 287 bottles have been produced of this wonderful whisky.
Nose – The aroma is evocative of a rain-lashed beach; charcoal smoke and burning heather join the ensemble with after-notes of honeycomb, tallow, and lemon sherbet.
Palate – This velvety Bowmore introduces flavours of yuzu, Szechuan pepper and thin-cut marmalade chased by subtle hints of peat and Manuka honey.
Finish – The finish is a still sea stretching to the horizon with a mist of peat smoke rolling over it. As time progresses smoked sea-salt, greengage and kaffir lime leaf join the symphony.
