A.D. Rattray

Independent bottler A.D. Rattray has its origins in 1868 when founder Andrew Dewar Rattray starts as an importer of French wines, Italian drinks and olive oil. At the same time, the company is also starting up as a single malt blender and offering distilleries the opportunity to store their whiskey with them. In the early 20th century, the focus shifts more to whiskey. Investments are mainly made in Highland distilleries, especially Stronachie.

Despite a financial crisis and a change of ownership, the company continues to exist and returns to the family at the end of the last century. The company bottles and promotes Stronachie whiskeys and subsequently bottled the Cask Islay and Bank Note bottlings as well as its own A.D. Rattray Cask Collection series.
