Located in Barbados, Foursquare Distillery is one of the most modern rum distilleries in the world. The rum is aged in small American white oak ex-Bourbon casks in huge open-sided warehouses, most of which come from the George Dickel Distillery in Tennessee.
On the nose, wonderfully rich and malty with fragrant vanilla and Christmas cake. Toffee apple and coffee come through with undertones of dense oak and buttery molasses.
On the palate, toasted oak with cigar and coffee bean bitterness developing into burnt notes of spiced fruit, thick syrup and a subtle note of camphor; a hint of smoke lingers with a long sweet finish.
A single barrel Foursquare Distillery rum sourced from Barbados. Bottled by Leith Stillroom in limited edition and bottled at cask strength. Distilled in November 2005 and filled in an ex-bourbon barrel and bottled 13 years later in 2019 with 267 bottles.
