The Ultimate Whiskey Company was founded in 1994 by the Dutchmen Han and Maurice van Wees. Together they selected the finest single malts to bottle themselves later. The whiskeys are not cold filtered (non chill filtered) and bottled without the addition of caramel at both 46% and cask strength, so that the purity of the whiskey is always preserved.
The range always consists of 18 bottlings from all regions of Scotland. Each bottle is numbered and all details about the barrel are on the label. More than 300 bottlings have been released since 1994, including some 'Rare Reserves'.
