A magnificent, robust Highland Single Malt from Blair Athol, selected and bottled by the independent bottler Adelphi. This 12-year-old whisky was matured entirely in a first-fill bourbon hogshead, beautifully complementing Blair Athol’s character with notes of creamy vanilla, ripe fruit, honey, and warm spices.

At 58.3% ABV, this is a bold cask-strength whisky, yet beneath that power lies a surprisingly elegant and fruity spirit. It is a fine expression of Blair Athol where the wood plays a supporting role, allowing the distillery's characteristic style to shine through clearly.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Bright gold to polished copper.

Nose
Full and inviting. Ripe apple, juicy pear, and peach are followed by creamy vanilla custard, honey, and soft caramel. Underlying notes of lemon zest, malty biscuit, and lightly toasted oak emerge.

Palate
Powerful and rich, yet beautifully balanced. Apple compote and ripe stone fruit combine with vanilla, honey, and rock candy. Notes of toffee, roasted almonds, cinnamon, and a hint of white pepper develop subsequently. The bourbon cask maturation lends the whisky a creamy texture and plenty of warmth.

Finish
Long, warm, and pleasantly spicy. Honey, vanilla, and ripe fruit linger, while pepper, caramel, and lightly spiced oak slowly fade away.
