A powerful and rich Speyside Single Malt from Dailuaine, selected and bottled by the independent bottler Adelphi. This 15-year-old whisky matured entirely in a refill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, beautifully complementing Dailuaine’s robust, malty character with notes of dark fruit, caramel, chocolate, and warm spices.
Bottled at a robust 56.7% cask strength, this single cask offering delivers great depth and concentration. The refill PX cask imparts richness and sweetness while allowing ample room for Dailuaine’s powerful distillery character to shine through.
With only 261 bottles drawn from a single cask, this is a distinctive Speyside whisky full of character—ideal for enthusiasts who appreciate full-bodied, dark, and layered whiskies.
Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep gold to warm amber, with a rich coppery glow.
Nose
Full and alluring. Raisins, dried figs, and ripe plums emerge immediately, followed by dark caramel, orange peel, and cocoa. Walnuts and malty biscuit provide a solid, nutty foundation, while cinnamon and nutmeg add a warm spiciness.
Palate
Powerful, full-bodied, and concentrated. Dark dried fruit and plum compote combine with rich syrup and dark caramel. Notes of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and sweet malt follow. Candied orange offers a fresh counterpoint, while black pepper and spicy oak provide added structure and depth.
Finish
Long, warm, and rich. Flavours of raisins, cocoa, and dark caramel linger on the palate. Notes of walnut, black pepper, and warm woody spices emerge behind that. The finish is layered and powerful, yet remains beautifully balanced.
