Palate: Full and round on the palate, with a creamy texture. Flavours of ripe red fruit – think cherries and plums – are complemented by caramel and toffee. There is a slightly savoury undertone of toasted nuts and a hint of dark chocolate, perfectly balanced by the fruity elegance of the cask.
Finish: Long and warming, with a gentle spiciness that lingers. The sweetness of the Marsala cask comes through again in the form of dried fruit and a hint of vanilla, while a delicate touch of oak and a hint of speculoos spices provide a satisfying finish.
