Every now and then, Berry Bros & Rudd comes across a whisky they'd love to rave about, but unfortunately, they can't/aren't allowed to reveal its provenance. While they can't let the proverbial cat out of the bag, they simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to bottle it…
Nose: Opens with floral honey, toasted almonds, and a bright hint of lemon peel. Three years in a quarter cask have enhanced the spicy profile of this enigmatic dram, where notes of cinnamon and vanilla mingle with a sweet malt base.
Palate: Well-balanced, with the sharp sweetness of sour apple candy mingling with warm oak spice, against a backdrop of creamy vanilla and soft tannins.
Finish: The finish echoes those earlier notes of honeyed almonds and bright citrus peel, concluding with a final touch of spice.
