CLIMATE & TERROIR: Summers are warm, winters relatively mild.
The vineyards are situated on slopes between 300 and 400 meters
altitude. The soils consist of a thin layer of limestone, pebbles, clay, and
sand.
WINIFICATION: The grapes—primarily Chardonnay—are fermented
in new French oak barrels. Part of the wine undergoes
malolactic fermentation, followed by 10 months of oak aging.
The final wine then ages for a further 6 months in bottle.
GRAPES: Chardonnay
ALCOHOL PERCENTAGE: 14.00%
NOIS & TASTE: Complex wine with layered aromas of exotic
fruit such as pineapple, blossom, rose petals, and toast. The palate is full,
intense, and structured, yet fresh, soft, elegant, and
wonderfully juicy. The finish is long. SERVING SUGGESTION: This wine pairs beautifully with flavorful appetizers, fish, cheeses, and white meat dishes.
TIP: The blend of various aromatic grapes, including Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay, is shrouded in secrecy. The grapes come from Vigna Castel
Ringberg, located on the famous lake, Lake Kaltern.
