Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
An exceptional Islay single malt whisky from the legendary No. 1 Vaults, Scotland's oldest maturation cellar on the coast of the island of Islay. This 25-year-aged Bowmore is a beautiful example of the classic Bowmore style: a refined balance between briny sea air, soft peat smoke, and elegant maturity.
This edition represents the traditional side of Bowmore, where decades of maturation in carefully selected oak casks have resulted in a complex and layered whisky. The influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the dark stone walls of the No. 1 Vaults give this whisky its distinctive character.
Tasting Note
Colour:
Deep gold to warm amber, with a rich appearance reflecting the long cask maturation.
Nose:
Elegant and refined. Aromas of soft peat smoke, sea salt, and dried fruit emerge, followed by notes of honey, vanilla, leather, and subtle spices. A hint of dark chocolate and ripe orange adds extra depth. Taste:
Full and complex with a beautiful balance between sweet and smoky. Flavors of ripe figs, raisins, and caramel are combined with soft peat, roasted nuts, and a light maritime salinity. The wood influence is beautifully integrated, providing notes of oak, tobacco, and spices.
Finish:
Long, warm, and refined. The soft smoke remains elegantly present, along with notes of dark chocolate, sea salt, dried fruit, and a subtle spiciness.
Character
A mature and harmonious Bowmore with the perfect combination of Islay smoke, maritime influences, and long cask maturation. Less powerful than some younger peated whiskies, yet exceptional precisely because of its finesse, depth, and elegant complexity.
