The Maltman Caol Ila 11 years old 2009 is an 11 year old Islay single malt from the Caol Ila distillery bottled by the independent bottler The Maltman (Meadowside Blending). This Caol Ila was distilled in December 2009 and matured in Fino sherry butt 322973. It was bottled in March 2021 at cask strength of 54.4%, non chill filtered and without added colourants, as a limited single cask release of 493 bottles.
Nose: The coast with harbor scents with sweet grains and peat smoke.
Taste: warming but also with butter, spicy ginger, lime zest, smoked and cured meat and salty licorice.
Finish: Long and creamy with butterscotch, more peat smoke and seaweed.
