Caves Gales & Cie. is a leading Luxembourg family business that produces both
still and sparkling wines. Since 1916, four
generations have continued the family tradition. Currently,
great-grandchildren Isabelle and Georges are at the helm. The Crémants Gales, which are
made according to the traditional method, are among the top
of the Luxembourg crémant range. They are characterized by a great deal of freshness and
elegance. Since the 1930s, the Gales family has also been producing still
wines. For this, they collaborate with local grape growers, where the harvest must meet very strict requirements. This results in, among other things, complex Grands
Premiers Crus. The wines come from the best vineyards located in a
narrow strip along the Moselle River, running south and southwest. The grape varieties planted here are primarily white and tolerant of northern climates: Riesling, Auxerrois, Rivaner, Elbling, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris.

CLIMATE & TERROIR: A temperate continental climate with relatively dry, warm summers. The vineyards are located on the southern slope of the Mosel.
WINIFICATION: Traditional method. The grapes are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The wine then undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle and ages there for 18 months.

NOIS & TASTE: Salmon-pink wine with a fine mousse and seductive aromas of red fruit such as strawberry, raspberry, and red currant. Elegant, fresh, and smooth on the palate. SERVING SUGGESTION: A super festive aperitif, but also delicious with
light starters with vegetables and fish, smoked salmon, grilled
portobello mushrooms, or a refreshing red fruit soup.
FACT: The Gales vineyards are located near Schengen, a small
village on the German side of the Moselle River. Wine was already being grown in this area around the beginning of the Christian era.
