CLIMATE & TERROIR: Semi-continental climate. The small
vineyard has a double exposure, the northern part is located on
the south and southern part facing west. The bottom contains
calcareous clay, marl and also some limestone from the Kimmeridge period.
VINIFICATION: The manually harvested grapes are partly fermented
used wooden barrels, partly in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures
a total of 14-15 months, of which more than half of the wine 5-6
months in oak barrels.
GRAPES: chardonnay
ALCOHOL PERCENTAGE: 13.00%
SMELL & TASTE: Fresh and refined with fruity and floral aromas. The
taste is subtle and refined, and both soft and lively. Round and
light at the same time, this wine has been very attractive since its youth.
SERVING SUGGESTION: Serve at 12 to 14°C with various fish dishes,
shellfish and crustaceans, poultry and white meat, grilled or with
creamy sauces.
FACT: Vaudésir is located on a steep slope between the Grands
Crus Valmur and Les Preuses. Vaudésir means 'valley of
desires'. This Grand Cru was already produced at the beginning of the 15th century
(!) so called.
