CLIMATE & TERROIR: Semi-continental climate. Small plot in
Vaulorent, located right next to the Grand Cru Les Preuses. The slope is
oriented to the south and southwest. The soil contains calcareous clay,
marl and limestone of the Kimmeridge period.
VINIFICATION: 40-50% of the grapes ferment in an average of 6 years old
oak barrels, the remainder in stainless steel tanks. 40-50% of the
wine matures for 14-16 months in oak barrels, the rest in stainless steel, true
the wine is finally combined.
GRAPES: chardonnay
ALCOHOL PERCENTAGE: 12.50%
SMELL & TASTE: Powerful and mineral-rich, with aromas of citrus and
white fruits. The taste is rich and concentrated with a remarkable
freshness and lots of length.
SERVING SUGGESTION: Serve at 12 to 14°C with various fish dishes,
seafood, poultry and white meat, grilled or with
creamy sauces.
FACT: Because Vaulorent is practically an extension of Les
Preuses, the wines have a similar strength and minerality
with the wines from the Grand Cru.
