Situated on the famous Pomerol plateau, one hundred and fifty meters south of the church, among the region's greatest grands crus, is
Château Clos de Clocher. It was acquired in 1931 by wine merchant Jean-Baptiste Audy. His great-grandchild (of the same name) now runs the nearly five-hectare estate. Together with a talented team (also responsible for the wines of Château Bonalgue (Pomerol), Château
Monregard la Croix (Pomerol), Château Les Hauts-Conseillants (Lalande de
Pomerol), and Château du Courlat (Lussac-Saint-Emilion), he produces a high-quality Pomerol from three-quarter Merlot with a Cabernet Franc blend,
sourced from old vines. These are ideally situated in iron-rich gravel and
clay soil. The limited size of the estate allows for optimal care of the grapes: each vine is meticulously monitored.

CLIMATE & TERROIR: A maritime climate with (currently) often
warm summers and mild winters. The weather can be unpredictable. The soil
consists of clay and limestone.
VINIFICATION: The grapes, harvested and destemmed by hand, are
fermented plot by plot in thermo-regulated concrete tanks. cuves. After this,
the wine matures for approximately twelve months in new (35%) and one-year-old
oak barrels.
GRAPES: Merlot, Cabernet Franc
ALCOHOL PERCENTAGE: 14.00%
NOTE & TASTE: Complex wine with aromas of sweet spices,
ripe fruit, black olives, and vanilla. The palate also reveals a touch of
chocolate, refined tannins, and an impressive finish.

hard cheeses.
FACT: With just under eight hundred hectares of vineyards,
Pomerol is the appellation with the smallest production in Bordeaux:
just over five million bottles are produced annually.
