Château du Tertre is a thousand-year-old wine estate with 52 hectares of vineyards. Since the introduction of the Grand Cru classification in the Haut-Médoc, this vineyard estate has remained unchanged. In the 19th century, du Tertre's popularity rose, partly due to the same Grand Cru Classification system.
In 1997, Dutch businessman Eric Albada Jelgersma purchased Château du Tertre and invested heavily in new equipment. The vision was also refined, bringing the wine to a higher level than ever before.
