THE PROCESS
The 400-litre Armagnac oak casks are crafted from centuries-old white oaks from the forests of Monlezun and Frêche—regions renowned for their exceptional brandy. Following distillation in Gascony in 1978—using traditional grape varieties such as Ugni Blanc, Baco Blanc, and Folle Blanche—the *eau-de-vie* was filled into these oak casks for long-term maturation. In the cellars, natural evaporation—known as "la part des anges" (the angels' share)—facilitated a gradual reduction through the constant interaction between the spirit, the wood fibres, and the ambient air, allowing balance, depth, and layered complexity to develop into a true single-vintage expression.

TASTE PROFILE
On the nose, this 1978 vintage reveals a harmonious bouquet of ripe fruit and vanilla, underpinned by subtle woody notes. The aroma is refined and well-balanced, reflecting its long maturation in traditional oak casks.

On the palate, layered notes of ripe fruit, soft spices, and warm oak unfold. A warm, spicy undertone adds depth, while the structure remains smooth and beautifully integrated—neither too dry nor too sweet.

The finish is long and smooth, leaving an elegant impression of balance, maturity, and evolving complexity.
