Francois Peyrot Héritage Lot 62 is one of the oldest cognacs available at Cognactheek, aged for 63 years. This cognac is an heirloom from Mathilde, François Peyrot’s mother; the Héritage series is considered the family’s crown jewel. The grapes come exclusively from Logis de Bergeronnettes, the Peyrot family’s wine estate. The *eau-de-vie* is from the 1962 harvest, and the bottles are filled to order. The Peyrot family has consistently declined requests from the US and China to purchase their entire stock, ensuring we can still enjoy this exceptional cognac today.

This cognac is bottled at cask strength (*brut de fût*). As individual casks vary, the alcohol content may differ from batch to batch; Lot 62 is bottled at 42% ABV. It offers aromas of flowers, vanilla, dried fruit, and spices. The palate is rich in dried fruit (apricots and plums), dark chocolate, nuts, and figs. The Héritage displays the highly prized *Rancio Charentais* character. It is an exceptional cognac meant to be savored slowly.
