This 15-year-old whisky matured entirely in a first-fill bourbon barrel, beautifully complementing Glen Garioch’s robust, malty character with a surprisingly exuberant tropical fruit profile.
Bottled at a robust 58.7% cask strength, this is a whisky with great body and intensity. Tropical fruit, creamy caramel, and chocolate combine with pistachio and a lively, peppery spiciness. An expressive Highland Single Malt where power, sweetness, and freshness come together beautifully.
With only 230 bottles drawn from a single cask, this is a Glen Garioch full of character and distinct personality.
Tasting Notes
Colour
Bright gold with a warm amber glow.
Nose
Exuberant and tropical. Ripe pineapple, melon, and papaya come to the fore immediately. These are followed by notes of caramelized pineapple, creamy vanilla, and milk chocolate. Pistachio adds a subtle nuttiness, while pine needles and a hint of white pepper provide freshness and vibrancy.
Palate
Full-bodied, powerful, and rich. Passion fruit, guava, and juicy pineapple form the core, complemented by fresh lemon and creamy tropical fruit flavours. Chocolate and soft caramel add depth and sweetness, while chocolate limes, white pepper, and a touch of musky spice create a surprising contrast.
Finish
Long, warm, and intense. Tropical pineapple and cocoa linger on the palate, followed by caramel, pistachio, and a gentle peppery spice. Lightly toasted oak brings the finish to a beautiful close. Character
