A North Star Spirits bottling of 11 year old Glentauchers single malt, distilled back in April 2007. It was initially left to mature in a bourbon hogshead, but was treated to a finishing period in a Pedro Ximénez cask before being bottled in May 2018. Just 288 bottles were produced.
This 11-year-old from Glaswegian indie North Star is a particularly sweet, fudgy dram with a touch of that traditional Glentauchers spice on the edge to liven things up. Creamy and full-bodied with a great Bourbon/sherry balance – lovely stuff.
Tasting Notes
Nose Honeyed barley, Jamaican Ginger Cake, cocoa powder.
Palate Heavy vanilla influence, with hints of apricot and cinnamon in support.
