A powerful and characterful Islay single malt from the Caol Ila distillery, independently bottled by Hart Brothers. Caol Ila is renowned for its elegant peat smoke, briny influences, and fresh, maritime character. For this special single-cask release, the whisky was distilled in March 2018 and matured for eight years in a wine cask. This cask maturation adds an extra dimension to Caol Ila’s signature smoky style, introducing rich fruit notes and spicy accents.

This limited edition was bottled in April 2026 at a cask strength of 57.5% ABV. The whisky is non-chill filtered and contains no added coloring. The result is an intense Islay malt that brings together powerful peat smoke, ripe dark fruit, and the influence of the wine cask.

Tasting Note
On the nose, pronounced aromas of peat smoke, sea salt, and iodine emerge immediately—hallmarks of Caol Ila’s coastal style. Underlying these are fruity notes of raisins, raspberry jam, and dark berries. A savory scent of smoked meat and smoldering wood adds depth, while subtle notes of seaweed and oak reinforce the maritime character.
