Casado was matured in fresh bourbon barrels for 6 years before 38 casks were selected and married together for 2 years in two 6,000 litre Portuege red wine vats.
The 2 years spent in red wine vats has added layers of rich red fruit and mixed spices, balancing beautifully with the maritime peat smoke and citrus character unique to Kilchoman.
