Tasting Notes
Aroma
Full and layered with dried apricot, raisins, and orange peel, but with plenty of air in between due to the refill influence. Behind this are apple, pear, and lemon oil, followed by walnut, almond, and a soft touch of beeswax. With time, tea leaves, leather, and polished oak emerge, with a fine spiciness reminiscent of ginger and nutmeg.
Taste
Powerful and oily with a beautiful balance between fruit and dry sherry structure. First honey, citrus zest, and ripe orchard fruit; then it shifts towards nutty depth with cocoa, roasted almond, and a light espresso-like bitterness. The 56.2% provides a solid backbone, with spicy oak, black pepper, and a subtle tannic grip that keeps everything tight.
Finish
Long and elegantly drying with persistent orange peel, nuts, and cocoa notes. Towards the end, more tea, spicy oak, and a warm, slightly bitter echo that invites the next sip.
