This 11 year old Laphroaig, bottled by independent bottler Living Souls, fully expresses the character of the iconic Islay distillery. The maturation in refill bourbon barrels provides a beautiful balance between powerful peat smoke, maritime influences and a refined sweetness.
Nose: Intense aromas of campfire smoke, iodine and sea breeze are complemented by notes of fresh bread, molasses and a subtle citrus touch.
Taste: Full and powerful, with characteristic notes of ash, peat, lemon cream and herbs. The influence of the bourbon barrels brings out a pleasant malty sweetness and vanilla, which contrasts nicely with the medicinal and salty Islay signature.
Finish: Long, dry and smoky, with lingering notes of ash, sea air and a slight peppery warmth.
