The Mac-Talla Mara Cask Strength Islay single malt is an Islay single malt from an undisclosed distillery bottled by independent bottler Morrison Scotch Whiskey Distillers. The Mara is the cask strength variant in this series and one with more maritime influences. Aged in American oak and bottled at 58.2% cask strength, non chill filtered and without the addition of colourants.
Nose: briny and salty with dark peat and catching seawater. Eucalyptus and menthol warm the nose even more.
Taste: Rich with a combination of white spices and more peat smoke. The salty influences are also prominent here. Then peat smoke over.
Aftertaste: wonderfully warming with salty influences and a crackling fire.
