For over 40 years, the Duncan Taylor team has been experimenting with maturing whisky in smaller casks, with great success. Their research is based on the simple premise that in a small cask, there is more interaction between the wood and the whisky, even for a shorter period than in a large cask. This allows the combination of wood, air, and alcohol to come together more quickly.

After a second maturation, the Octave casks have refined the whisky, enhancing its color, flavor, structure, and character. The flavor profile is subtly broader and more refined, with the impressive presence of a mature, balanced Scotch whisky. They are now "Octave Invigorated™." The Octave Collection is extensive and offers something for everyone, whether you're looking for a single malt, a single grain, or a blended malt whisky. Duncan Taylor Octave Mannochmore 10 YO 2015 – product information
This delicious single malt whisky was distilled at Mannochmore in Speyside on January 15, 2015. It was bottled on August 28, 2025, at a strength of 54.3% ABV. The single malt was first matured for 10 years in an ex-Bourbon cask, and then finished in an Oloroso sherry cask.

When you taste this whisky, notes of candied stone fruit and creamy, honeyed malt will predominate. all in all a whisky that is well worth it.
