Adelphi Selection St. Kilian 6 Year Old – 2026
A distinctive German single malt from St. Kilian, selected and bottled by the independent bottler Adelphi. This six-year-old, unpeated whisky matured entirely in a Moscatel butt, beautifully complementing the character of the young St. Kilian spirit with exuberant stone fruit, floral notes, honey, and sweet spices.
Bottled at a robust 59.7% cask strength, this whisky offers great intensity and a full, almost syrupy texture. Apricot, peach, grapes, and candied citrus form the fruity core, while toasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and warm spices provide added depth.
With only 694 bottles drawn from a single cask, this is a striking and unique expression from the young German St. Kilian distillery.
Tasting Notes
Colour
Warm gold to polished teak, with a rich amber glow.
Nose
Rich, aromatic, and distinctly fruity. Apricot jam and juicy peach are followed by orange blossom, honey, and raisins. Underlying notes of milk chocolate, malty biscuits, and a hint of cardamom emerge. A touch of pepperiness adds a lovely spicy contrast to the nose.
Palate
Full-bodied, rounded, and almost syrupy. Green grapes and peach tea combine with candied citrus, barley sugar, and sultanas. Vanilla and honey provide a gentle sweetness, while toasted malt and dark caramel add depth. Warm spices and robust oak bring everything into beautiful balance.
Finish
Long and pleasantly warming. Dried apricot, honey, and raisins remain pleasantly present, followed by a subtle peppery note. Floral Moscatel notes and warm woody spices create an elegant and slightly spicy finish.
