Description
This adventurous release from Talisker, based on malt with a rich maritime character, is the very first release to be finished in pot-still casks for Caribbean rum. These allowed the sea aromas and spicy punch of this colorful character from the Skye distillery to come alive with the rich, dark, and exotic sweetness of warmer climates.
Founded in 1830, Talisker was the first licensed distillery on Skye and remains the oldest working distillery on the island. Famous for its full, rich character and powerful peppery finish, this whisky is made by the sea, like the oyster beds where life thrives in the clear waters off the island's west coast.
Deep caramel aromas are balanced by sea salt, dry seaweed, and warm sand on a smoky barbecue undertone. The texture is soft, the taste enormously rich and sweet before the classic Talisker warmth sets in with a hint of salt and chili pepper, to a smoky, peppery, and drying finish.
