Late Bottled Vintage Port (LBV) is a type of port developed by Taylor’s that reflects the characteristics of a harvest year but has no sediment, and it is also quicker to drink than a Vintage Port. The wine is a blend of grapes from Taylor’s best plots in the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior. The touriga francesa, tinta roriz and touriga nacional grapes are intensively macerated for fermentation after manual harvest. The fermentation is stopped by adding wine alcohol followed by a four to six year wood maturation in large barrels of 20,000 litres. LBV is ready to drink immediately after bottling. Deep ruby red colour with refined aromas of strawberry jam and spicy notes of cedar, leather, mocha and coffee. Rich flavour of red berry with firm tannins and a long finish. A beautiful expression of the 2018 harvest with the emphasis on elegance and finesse. Serve with dishes with chocolate, almonds, walnuts and a rich cheese platter with, among other things, blue cheeses.
CLIMATE & TERROIR: A climate with warm summers and cold
winters. The terroir has elements of weathered granite and
slate.
VINIFICATION: The grapes are harvested by hand and
soaked for a long time. The fermentation is stopped by adding wine alcohol,
after which 4 to 6 years of wood maturation follows in large barrels of about 20,000
liters.
GRAPES: touriga francesa, tinta roriz, touriga nacional
ALCOHOL PERCENTAGE: 19.00%

FACT: The Late Bottled Vintage is made from grapes from a single
