A distinctive Irish blended whiskey from Teeling that combines traditional Irish craftsmanship with the rich influences of Venezuelan rum. For this limited edition, Teeling has partnered with Santa Teresa, a renowned rum producer from Venezuela. The whiskey is initially matured in bourbon casks and subsequently undergoes an additional maturation period in former Santa Teresa Solera rum casks. This unique cask finishing imparts extra depth and a rich, fruity character to the whiskey. Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, ensuring the natural flavor and full character are well preserved.
Tasting Note
The nose reveals rich aromas of caramel, honey, and dark chocolate, beautifully balanced by malty barley notes and fresh orchard fruit. The combination of sweet and fruity scents creates an inviting and layered aroma.
On the palate, the whiskey is smooth and creamy, featuring recognizable notes of vanilla, honey, and light spices. The influence of the Venezuelan rum casks adds nuances of ripe apricot, fig, and dried fruit. The sweetness is supported by subtle wood notes and a pleasant spiciness, striking a fine balance between the fresh character of Irish whiskey and the warm, rich influence of the rum casks.
The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of dried fruit, cinnamon, and creamy malt. Subtle hints of pastry and oak provide a refined conclusion.
