Big Peat 12 Years is a first. This is the first Big Peat whisky with an age statement, part of the brand's core range. As always, this is a complex and smoky Islay blended malt whisky, crafted from a mix of distillates from Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila, and Port Ellen, among others. Each distillate used has been matured for at least 12 years. Big Peat 12 Years is bottled by Douglas Laing, leaving the whisky in its natural color and non-chill filtered.
Complex layers of smoke and peat are abundant, as is always the case with Big Peat whisky. This 12-year-old blended malt is also rich with hints of brown sugar, maritime notes, sea salt, charcoal, and ash.
