The Big Peat Christmas Edition 2023 is the thirteenth release in this Christmas series of cask-strength Big Peat bottlings. Douglas Laing's Islay blended malt, a special in the Remarkable Regional Malts series, is made from Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore, and Port Ellen, among other malts. This 2023 edition is finished in sherry casks and bottled at 54.8% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added color, as a limited small-batch release.
Nose: Dried fruit, cocoa, a characteristic spiciness, and the signature Big Peat smoke.
Palate: Candied citrus peel with a sea breeze, peated barley, and sweet smoke.
Finish: Medium-long with sweet smoke notes.
