Scotland's Glen Scotia is launching the 'Icons of Campbeltown' series, of which the Single Malt Scotch whiskey 12YO 'The Mermaid' No1 of 5 is the first version. This beautiful bottle was designed in collaboration with artist Joel Holtzman (known from Lucasfilm, Marvel, Disney, Macmillan). The bottle was inspired by the mermaids that were seen several times in the Campbeltown area. Possibly no coincidence that the increase in mermaid sightings coincided with the success of distilling in the 19th century. This Single Malt Scotch whiskey has undergone an 8-month finish on Palo Cortado Sherry Casks, after which the whiskey is bottled at a cask strength of 54.10%.

• Color: Amber.
• Nose: A fruity maritime dram with seaweed, toffee, tarte tatin and orange.
• Taste: A creamy texture with a slightly sweet and maritime character.
• Aftertaste: A long, savory and warm aftertaste. A drop of water provides a more spicy aftertaste.
