Rock Island is a maritime blend of Island whiskies bottled by independent bottler Douglas Laing. A vatted malt made from whiskies from Jura, Arran, Orkney, and Islay, Rock Island is a tribute to the sea and a small-batch release of the finest maritime malts. In this case, the prize for opening an oyster is not a pearl, but a flavorful, delicate, and rich whisky with the aromas of the sea. This is the 10-year-old release bottled at 46% ABV.
Nose: Salty oceans, fresh citrus notes, and subtle peat smoke
Palate: Subtle with soft peat aromas, smoke, honey, damp ash, licorice, and later, pepper
